Melbourne, Australia 11 December 2007 St Kilda Football Club, a leading AFL football club, today announced that it has entered into a three-year strategic marketing partnership with JELD-WEN, the world’s largest combined window and door manufacturer.
The agreement completes the commitment to find a major sponsor, by Club President, Greg Westaway. Speaking on the sponsorship, he said: “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with such a reputable and global organisation as JELD-WEN and are looking forward to a long and successful partnership. It is no coincidence that we are joining with a company that has clearly demonstrated a commitment and dedication to excellence”. “Strategically, we’ve worked hard this year to make some key changes and get our house in order, to set us on course for a successful 2008 and beyond,” said Mr Westaway. At a press conference at Linen House Oval, Doug Brown Managing Director of Corinthian Doors, that was wholly acquired by JELD-WEN in November 2004, said “JELD-WEN Windows and Doors are excited in becoming St Kilda Football Club’s major sponsorship partner for the next three years – 2008 to 2010”. “This partnership reinforces JELD-WEN’s commitment to building the awareness of its reliable and high quality brands amongst Australian builders, architects, resellers and DIY customers through the St Kilda Football Club.” “Similarities between JELD-WEN and the Saints are many, but none more important than realising people are our future. Whether they are customers, employees, suppliers, members, players or sponsors, we must ensure that people come first. This, in turn, will guarantee our future success”. The sponsorship sees JELD-WEN take on maximum exposure with logo placement including front and back of jumper, coaching box and staff. Club CEO, Mr Archie Fraser said ”We are honoured to be able to add a truly impressive business to our sponsorship portfolio. JELD-WEN is a highly respected organisation and one of Australia’s leading manufacturers and we're proud to carry their logo as we prepare to pursue victory in the 2008 season”. “Further more, this announcement marks a massive month for the Saints. We’ve announced our relocation in 2010 to Frankston with the multi-million dollar new club and training facility development. We’ve seen club legend Fraser Gehrig return for the 2008 season and now our major sponsor. We’re in an enviable and exciting position with a bright future cemented here in Melbourne”.
